Yep. I'm getting the same. I wonder how long "a period" is.

Hello all

Have been happily using GiP for several years, no problems that weren't swiftly fixed/advised on by forum posters. I usualy only post here when it breaks though...like this evening.

Running v2.94 on Windows Vista Home using command line, not PVR, with Sky UK broadband.

Was working fine until at least 2300 yesterday (Mon). Tried downloading several radio & tv progs after midnight, and error msgs below appeared.
I restarted computer, deleted tv.cache & swf.info, then --refresh, one or more of which are usually enough to fix temporary glitches, but no result. I'll reinstall v2.94 in the morning in case that works, but if not - is it perhaps a connection issue (bbc prog sites currently still accessible through browser), or has the BBC changed something again?

Thanks
Alex

I'm getting exactly the same. My installation is on a Raspberry pi and before searching around I assumed it was a corrupted installation as I pulled the plug accidentally.
I re-installed but of course it changed nothing.

Running 2.94 and now assuming this is a problem with the BBC site not get-iplayer.

Let's hope it gets fixed soon.

user-585

This is a repeat of the problems from Monday afternoon and a few other times so far this year.

The previous emergency dev release does work.

user-1240

sawtooth, can you please specify the tag number/location of that "emergency dev release" still working this morning?

user-1141

I get a similar message even when adding the extra command
C:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer>get_iplayer --get --pid b01l1w71 --playlist-metadata.

Like 97tsm, I'd be interested in the "emergency dev release".

Same issues here. Latest v2.94, W10, previously working fine. Lots of metadata errors. You really miss it when its gone!

user-1242

Hi there
I think I am having the same problems as a lot of folks. I receive the following error messages:
WARNING: Could not download programme metadata from http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00k59ch.xml
ERROR: Failed to get version pid metadata from iplayer site
user-2 (@ /thread-693.html) said the issue is solved, but I suspect it may not be.
It seems to be on the iplayer side of things.
Thanks to the folks to keep get_iplayer running. Is there any idea if the problem will be fixed?
Thanks heaps.

Absolutely. Well said, bfrost!

user-1153

If you're on Windows, the temporary fix I described here -> /threa...ml#pid3417 still works.

user-1246

I also appreciate all you do - and am happy to contribute financially - a monthly fee ?

user-693

I'd pay a monthly fee too.
