The BBC has (temporarily?) removed the schedule information used by get_iplayer to refresh its programme index cache, leading to repeated "WARNING: Failed to download programme schedule" messages and no new programmes being added to the cache. This is the same root problem affecting programme metadata as reported here:

Downloading with --pid still works, but the programme metadata will be unreliable and file names may not be as expected. For the moment, just don't use get_iplayer. There will be an announcement in this forum if/when the schedule information is available again.
