Good morning chaps,
I recently bought a 4K TV Set which has an in-built iplayer. Unless the TV is a "wizard" I am nearly wholly convinced it is receiving UltraHD rather than the regular 720p stream. Is there anyway to choose UltraHD in get-iplayer? I have looked through the documentation but the highest mode I can see is a 1280x720 one.
Thanks, and great software!

Hi there
No 4K content now but will be shortly. I have SKY Q with 2 miniboxes and (although some teething problems) the SKY 4K service (particularly Sports - Football specifically) is absolutely brilliant in 4K UHD.
Note - SKY Q miniboxes still have mac 1080p but I'm sure some firmware will probably change that in due course.
I can't believe that the BBC isn't possibly even now testing some 4K UHD programming -- I can't see it being too far way in the future.
However downloading say a 2 hr program in 4K UHD will need decent broadband speeds (less than 20 Mib/s forget it) and unlimited bandwidth --if your ISP caps your bandwidth to even 100GB a month you'll rapidly run out after downloading a few 4K movies (to say nothing of when 8K eventually arrives).
OT I know - but standard DVD's and SD programs can look quite grainy / fuzzy on large 4K TV sets unless they have a decent built in upscaling facility --DVD quality is only 576p which looks a bit rubbishy on a 60 inch TV without serious upscaling. Also note you will need an HDMI cable with version 2 compliant - otherwise SKY Q won't work on 1.4 version of HDMI !!!!!! so check before buying one of those nice new TV's for XMAS.
Cheers
