Are RSS feeds still a thing for anyone?
As a bit of an experiment, there is now an adaptor at https://bbc-rss.herokuapp.com/ which provides a couple of hundred category based feeds for both TV and radio. Most are quite small but there are higher level feeds such as Comedy / All and Drama / All which may be useful to someone.
Being able to switch the backend source of data if necessary (/programmes, AOD, iBL, Nitro) and the data format (XML, JSON, RSS, get_iplayer cache format) easily by having a centralised/replicated source of cache data may be an interesting direction for get_iplayer in the future.
