--file-prefix' is not recognized

user-1221

Hi All, I set up get_iplayer again and as usual entered the command to convert all recordings to mp3, directories etc.

So far, so good.

I then went to enter the automatically rename command example given in the FAQ

--file-prefix="<nameshort><-senum><-episodeshort>"

That was refused:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer>--file-prefix="<nameshort><-senum><-episodeshort>"
'--file-prefix' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

Is the syntax wrong? There's clearly a mistake I'm making and I'm obviously a n00b.

Thanks in advance for a gentle nudge, I did try to search but turned up nothing useful.

Prefix your command with get_iplayer

Actually, if you want to do that renaming, do it as part of the recording command or save it as a preference. If you read on from that section you read in the guide, you'd see it was used as part of a larger command.

You could add the renaming as a preference by using a command such as:

get_iplayer --prefs-add --file-prefix="<nameshort><-senum><-episodeshort>"

Doh! Obvious when it's pointed out!

Many thanks for your help and for the work you do :)
