When I installed Windows 10, the getiplayer tried to run in the new browser Edge. I made getiplayer to open in internet explorer and all was fine. This was about two weeks ago and is still running okay.

But did running in Edge lead to the error reported by the OP?

Not sure, jusr that getiplayer would not run at all using edge, but worked fine when opened in internet explorer

That would be a different issue that is unique to your system. get_iplayer works fine with Edge elsewhere. Moving posts to a separate thread.
