get_iplayer forums

Hi
I've never had a problem with get_iPlayer until now. I'm getting the same error message on both radio and TV downloads using the PID method.

get_iplayer Output:

Can't load 'C:/Program Files (x86)/get_iplayer/lib/auto/XML/LibXML/LibXML.dll' for module XML::LibXML: load_file:The specified module could not be found at DynaLoader.pm line 190.

at XML/LibXML.pm line 156.

BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at XML/LibXML.pm line 156.

Compilation failed in require at XML/LibXML/SAX.pm line 19.

BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at XML/LibXML/SAX.pm line 19.

Compilation failed in require at (eval 67) line 1.

Is this a local problem?

Yes, it's a local problem, but only you will know what you have done to your system. Check if these files exist:

C:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer\lib\auto\XML\LibXML\LibXML.dll
C:\Program Files (x86)\get_iplayer\libxml2-2_.dll

If they do, check that their permissions allow them to be accessed by you. If so, then I can't offer any further suggestions. You're not the first to encounter this problem, but it is not reproducible. Nobody has found a solution, other than perhaps running get_iplayer as administrator, which is not a very good solution. Thank you very much! That sorted the problem. I was indeed missing the permissions. I just had to tick full control.
