The --help information has a line for --modes which says:



Is this information now deprecated? 

--tvmode is an unrecognised switch, and there are now many more modes, it's all a bit confusing.

--tvmode is still very much a recognised option.  You must have had a typo in your command.

I see why I'm confused now, if you simple type "get-iplayer --tvmode" with no other parameters, it returns "Option tvmode requires an argument"

However I'd interpreted the help text "See --tvmode and --radiomode for available modes and defaults." to mean that it would return the list of available modes.

I take it that it's actually referring to the --tvmode line in the help that lists the available modes, although this only shows up in --helplong so I'd missed it.
