cant record Snooker on HD

Hello people,

I have downloaded snooker on BBC before when we had the world championship 2015.
But since yesterday we have UK Snooker and i downloaded the get_iplayer again and started to record.
I live outside the UK, so I always need to use a proxy.
With the UK championship I can record snooker, but on very bad quality.
The HD version of snooker are available !! I double checked that.
here is what I get on my screen, I do get a lot of errors :

Please read the forums rules, you actually managed to break all of them.

As you'll see, we don't support use of VPN/proxy or access of geo-blocked content from outside UK.

Hello,

Sorry to say, but...

If you are outside of the UK then you are not allowed to download programmes from the BBC iPlayer! The BBC has blocked most proxy servers. Also, I think it is against the forum rules to discuss this issue anyway...

This is my understanding of things. Good luck!

Sorry, I don't understand all this fuss
I didn't ask about how to use proxy server etc..
My question was related to HQ download.

I have BBC at home via cable and I pay for it in Holland.
BBC is the killer of snooker , snooker should have gone world wide in the 80's but because of their idiotic rules, they killed snooker and snooker
Admin, please remove the proxy part in my thread.

You're problem lies in the use of a VPN, the programme is available to download fine for me.

And you should know several things:

1) VPN/Proxy are synonymous
2) The BBC and their various CDN's block various VPN/proxies differently, what's available from one CDN serving SD may be blocked by the HD CDN.

Also, there's a typo in your command: it's get_iplayer --get snooker --modes=hlsbest

VPN is not the issue here.
I have used VPN before and that is not a problem.
Since discussion about this issue is against rules, I wont mention anything more,
but the command I wrote solves the problem,
instead of using: --tvmode=best
you should use : --modes=hlsbest

this was the issue and its working now
