2 files for each recording and file name says timeout

Hi

I have Windows running in London with a 1G internet connection.

I new to get_iplayer and installed it a couple of weeks ago.

It was working fine but now for every download I getting 2 files like the attached screenshot.

I normally use this :-

get_iplayer --pid=b0681pmm

But after some posts here i try :-

get_iplayer --pid=b0681pmm --aactomp3

Does not make any difference.

Paste is below. Anyone know what the issue is
a) why is it trying different modes
b) why get 2 files
c) why have timeout in file name

Do us the courtesy of not dumping your entire log into your posts.  Use the formatting options provided (see above) or attach as a .txt file.

The stray quote character in your output path and --timeout in your file prefix suggests that you have messed up your preferences somehow.  Post the output from get_iplayer --show-prefs, and scrub your username from the output if necessary. Also, there is no way to tell which of your two files is which if you don't show the file extensions.

Hi, Sorry for the dump!

The output is this...

search (TV|Club\recordings")
output c:\uktvclub\recordings"

The file extensions are showing. The file names as copied and pasted in full are:-

BBC_News_at_Ten_-_06_09_2015_b069gpjy_default.partial.mp4.flv --timeout 10
and
BBC_News_at_Ten_-_06_09_2015_b069gpjy_original.partial.mp4.flv --timeout 10

The file names have " --timeout 10" appended to the end of each file name.

I just reset to the default settings in get_iplayer and everything worked perfect, I did a test recording and it saved the recording as:
World_Business_Report_-_07_09_2015_b069gpng_default.mp4
Saved in users/administrator/desktop/iplayer recordings

Then I used this
get_iplayer --prefs-add --output "c:\uktvclub\recordings\"
to change the folder and the problem is now back again. 2 files one default default.partial and one original.partial and " --timeout 10" appended to the end of the file name and both files in the new folder location.

I do not want files saved to default location. Any idea what the problem is please?

Don't put a backslash before the final quote. You don't need the quotes unless there are spaces in the path, and you don't need a trailing backslash.
