I see that it has just been announced that they are going to bring forward plans for the BBC to charge for catch up services like iPlayer. Will this be the end of get_iPlayer?

With respect, I don't think that is the point.

We don't yet know how exactly the government, sorry, the BBC, will implement the extension of the licence fee to iPlayer (and/or its successors).

It could be that they might even phase out iPlayer in its present form.

I think we just have to watch and wait.
