In conjunction with their destruction of the TV listing feeds used by get_iplayer (see here), the BBC has removed other resources required for get_iplayer to stream live TV and radio. This problem is indicated by the following error messages:

ERROR: Failed to get version pid metadata from iplayer site
ERROR: Could not get version pid metadata

There is no workaround, but live streaming should be restored in the next release.
