Just managed to get iplayer up and running on a new ubuntu server install. So I have latest version of everything.

After the weeks hiatus there were several programs on the pvr list. They've all downloaded fine, but none are in HD - all are lower resolution (files of approx 250MB instead of the more normal 1GB).

I have a read of the other thread relating to HD, but that seems to be related to location of the downloader. I'm in Bristol.

And ideas?

Any logs or diagnostics I can get?

Did you specify to download in HD or have you added this option to your preferences?

get_iplayer doesn't download in HD by default.

I'm using --version-list=default

I thought after the no modes available issue that was the correct way?

Is there a setup that would try and download the highest quality first then only pick a lower quality if nnone of the higher ones were available?

For those not totally immersed in this and who maybe haven't been able to read all versions of the notes that are around and online...

Solution: add --modes=best to the options. so the command line options for the current version (2.91) are
