Have pulled and posted the information from the log file . GiA finds the program but seems to get stuck ( 5th sentence of log below) and cannot pull the proper meta data for some reason. Any ideas?

GiA's provided proxy is dead. Here is the drill:

The provided proxy fails every few months, sometimes more often. Thomas (GiA's author) fixes it whenever he gets around to it. It can take hours, days, or weeks. He doesn't post a notice when it's fixed, so you just have to keep trying until you find it's working again.

Updating to my latest pre-release build will not help. However, GiA 1.5.4-pre.2 or higher is configured by default to pop up a warning before downloading if the proxy appears to not be working. That will at least make it clear where the problem lies.

GiA's provided proxy is unreliable, so you should make your own proxy or VPN arrangements. Otherwise, you will continue to experience these outages several times per year.
