Hi im having a problem with the installer, I get to this part

get_iplayer v2.83, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details use --warranty. This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions; use --conditions for details. WARNING: Running the updater again to obtain plugins. INFO: Current version is 2.83 INFO: Checking for latest version from www.infradead.org

and it stops.

can anyone help

The server could have been down temporarily (it is up now), or there could have been a problem upstream from you or your ISP. Keep trying. If you can reach www.infradead.org with your web browser, so should the installer.

Ive put a attachment to see if this is what http://www.infradead.org should look like.

also ive manged to install it on another windows (Vista) computer with out any problems. (I'm using windows 7)

That's the correct site. The installer should attempt to download several files from that site, which you can check individually:

http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/latest/get_iplayer
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/lat...player.cgi
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/MANIFEST.v2.83
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/v2....les.plugin
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/v2....ast.plugin

If the problem persists, create an empty directory with the following path:

Code:
C:\Users\<your_username>\.get_iplayer\plugins

I think that should prevent the plugin installation phase from executing and allow the installer to continue. You can download the two .plugin files and place them in that directory later if you wish.

Hi I did what you said and i got past that point and it said it could not connect.
So I just copied everything over from the computer it was working on and that seemed to work.

and thank you for all the help too.
