Update copyright dates

In Linux (can't speak for Windows),
get_iplayer -V
get_iplayer v3.25, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis

It could do with an update to that version line.
a) It's free software with presumably a GPL Licence
b) It's been updated since 2010!

Note that nothing since approx 2010 is copyright Phil Lewis because he hasn't contributed since then, and as far as I can tell nobody has ever recorded a copyright over the new code or changes since then. (I didn't for the tiny bit I submitted once, a long time ago, which probably isn't even in the code any more.)

However Phil Lewis has asserted his copyrights and the developers are not at liberty to remove that assertion (at least morally, if not legally).

Also, under English Law, copyrights are owned (or not) regardless of whether you mark something as copyright. (see

So, yes, the copyright statement could be revised, but there's no legal reason to do so.

What is important, but is done anyway, is that the licence under which get-iplayer is made available is clear.

usual caveat applies: I am not a lawyer.
