I was about to report a bug that I had found in version 3.23 when it mixes together a 'better' stream when downloading and it produces an incorrect MP4 muxed file. It looks like it's downloading the audio and video and then uses ffmpeg to put them together and doesn't get it quite right.
Or rather didn't, because version 3.24 fixes this.
So, just a thanks for fixing a problem before I realised I had one.
If you're interested:
get_iplayer--pid b00nxn31 --tvmode=better
produced a file that is reported by 'mediainfo' as:Video
