haflow, hlalow vs daflow gives different outcome

user-915

What with the recent issue with HLS streams, I was trying the other format(s) yesterday when downloading some R4 international streams.

I noticed in particular that daflow vs hlalow (and today confirmed vs haflow with v3.23) gives a different result (with hlalow and haflow being essentially identical save for a couple of bytes of metadata).

Consider this programme:
The_Film_Programme_-_Simon_Beaufoy_m000bp47_original
from:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000bp47

When I download it with mode daflow, I get an .m4a file that is 10,147,188 bytes and if you listen to the very end of the programme, the final syllable of the presenter is cut-off.

If, however, I download it with hlalow or haflow, I get an .m4a file that is 10,151,865 bytes and does not suffer from this truncation.

Can you tell me if this is due to a difference in the source data of the streams provided by the Beeb, or is this in fact due to a difference in the programmatic methods of gip in downloading these streams (leading to the truncation)?

This is easily repeatable if you want to try it out for yourself.
Let me know if you need any more details.

Meanwhile as ever, thanks for the great software.
