Diff can find no difference between the files in the downloaded archives. How exactly is the update to be applied?

I meant to post this as a reaction to the release announcement but that did not work.

Source code archive links have been corrected in GitHub release. Anyone who has already pulled source via git should re-pull with tags to ensure the v3.23 tag is correct.
