Your connections to the BBC servers are being blocked. The most likely culprit for your problem is your anti-virus package, if you use one. If so, disable it completely and try again. Another possible suspect would be your firewall, but it's not terribly likely that you would have blocked outbound connections. If you've been messing around with your firewall, it's worth checking. The problem may also be upstream from your computer, but it's usually an anti-virus package at fault.

Hi, Thanks for all your work . I have a similar problem. Using the latest version 2.90 I can download tv flawlessly but not radio. I consistently get the error message that no connection can be made to socket 10013, whether I use the serial number or PID of the radio programme. Disabling my firewall and/or BitDefender av has not helped. Any help would be gratefully received.

Partially solved. I use Windows Vista. I switched to XP, installed on another partition, and lo! - radio downloads work fine. So the problem must be to do with Vista. Any idea what the problem might be?

As with the original thread, something is denying rtmpdump network access. It could be anti-spyware, anti-virus not completely disabled, upstream problems, duff VPN - anything. What it's not is anything to do with get_iplayer or rtmpdump. Now that you've moved to a completely different system, it's no surprise results will be different. The logical question for you is: what's different between the systems that would affect network access? We can't possibly know how you've configured your systems.
