Cache not updating on Windows

user-1966

Hi

I experiencing the issue of not having the cache being updated. The known issues page says to try setting up a local library for Perl modules (described in the get_iplayer install docs). I have looked in the installation section of the wiki, but couldn't see how to do these on Windows 7.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

You would never need to set up a local module library on Windows. You are provided with the modules you need. If you haven't upgraded to 3.06.0, do it now.

I have upgraded but still experiencing the issue.

I can't reproduce this behaviour. Temporarily rename your tv.cache file (see FAQ list for location) so that get_iplayer will repopulate it. Then, post the output from:
Code:
get_iplayer --refresh --search=bogus
followed by:
Code:
get_iplayer --list=channel

I renamed the cache and ran those commands. It seems to be working now so looks like the issue has been resolved.

Thank you so much for your help. It's greatly appreciated.

Good. Cache corruption a possible cause, but not worth investigating further.

Also: You may wish to run get_iplayer --cache-rebuild to restore older listings not picked up by --refresh.
