Can't get cache to --refresh with Homebrew get_iplayer

I have updated to get_iplayer 3.06_1-homebrew (running on macOS 10.12.6) but can't get the cache to refresh. Whenever I search for anything, I get old (last week's) data.

Trying "get_iplayer -–refresh" goes through the motions, but still with no new programmes.

I have no problems downloading via --pid (after it says initially the programme can't be found).

Any suggestions?

I can't reproduce this behaviour. Temporarily rename your tv.cache file (see FAQ list for location) so that get_iplayer will repopulate it. Then, post the output from:

Looking in there, I've got both:
tv.cache
tv.cache.old
and
radio.cache
radio.cache.old

Wonder if that has any bearing? Anyway, I deleted the "old" versions and renamed the current versions. Rand the code and got the responses:

Nothing to do with .old files. They are backup copies. Cache corruption a possible cause, but not worth investigating further.
