I use a rather old version of get_iplayer: 2.94
I always use this code:
get_iplayer --subtitles  --get "http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01nzm6f/the-adventures-of-abney-teal-series-2-17-shadows" --vmode=hlsbest  --force

and I get m3u8 url from the get_iplayer window. but it doesn't work these days, http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nzm6f.xml is under Maintenance mode.

I install the latest get_iplayer: 3.00.0, and still use the above code, but I can't see the m3u8 url anymore, it just starts to download. I think M3U8 can improve my downloading efficience. I really like it.

You don't need to post this multiple times! Once is enough.

You don't need to see the M3U8 file because get_iplayer downloads the programme for you.

But I do need the M3U8 file because that way I can download bunch of files with downloading software.

get_iplayer no longer has this functionality. Old versions are not supported. Please see forum rules.
