For its HD programmes the BBC provides 50fps HD and SD streams, which is kind of pointless since most HD programmes are shot in progressive format and the only benefit 50fps provides is for the scrolling end credits.
They do not provide the 960x540 50fps for programmes which are SD only, which is a shame because shows like Dad's Army were shot in 25i and would benefit from 50fps.
However there is another stream at 704 x 396 50fps. I managed to watch The Good Life using this stream via another piece of software and it looked like proper interlaced video. The BBC mentions this additional stream on its website but does not say what devices it is intended for (I assume it is for TV sets), and says that what stream you see depends on what device you are using.
So could you please add support for this extra stream? I know this is possible because I managed to download it using a paid software which I will not name.
