I believe that the 30 day radio show cache is maintained if updated once per week (i assume that means running get_iplayer at least once per week?).

Will this be changed in the future so that this will not be a requirement? e.g. get up to the full 30 days if having not updated for a few weeks?

You can already do that with --refresh-limit, though it is slow and not entirely reliable. However, that option has been deprecated and will be removed in the near future. You can always use the iPlayer site to locate missing episodes, or use --pid-recursive to do a one-shot catch-up of available episodes for a series.

Thanks for that, I'll have a mess about with --pid-recursive.
