  perl.exe problem
Posted by: toge - 01-09-2013, 09:52 AM - Forum: Windows Troubleshooting - Replies (3)

Hi all

I’m running Win7 64bit, and only recently started to get these errors when I start up the program (screenshots below)

I’ve tried reinstalling get_iplayer using the auto installer, but no luck, it just won’t work. My perl.exe has the MD5 hash 4E341C9DE7A9C52A56DA9BD997BAC52B

Thanks in advance for any help

  Dry run "command"
Posted by: mrad - 28-08-2013, 01:21 PM - Forum: General Topics - Replies (1)

Is it possible to have a command run with passed in substitutions, based on an existing download.
e.g.

Code:
perl get_iplayer --download_suppressing_option(s) --pid=12345678 --command=mywrapper <pid> <dir> <fileprefix>

thanks in advance.

  Multiple --command use

Hi,

I used the 'command "<cmd>"' in a global pref for a third party feature, and this works perfectly, so now i'm considering creating a custom feature.

Is it possible to have more than one command executed after a fetch is processed? Or should i create a wrapper to call what will be two seperate scripts?

  please help, need mp3 and higher bitrate
Posted by: Enid - 28-08-2013, 05:12 AM - Forum: Windows General Help & Support - Replies (2)

For the love of god, can someone please explain to me (in a completely idiot proof way) how to download BBC radio in MP3 format. I'm using windows web pvr manager. I have tried reading the faqs and guides...it's not working. I'm sure it's entirely my fault, but I need a *simple* step-by-step retard proof explanation. I just want to set it to automatically dl every episode of a radio 6 programme in mp3 format at the highest quality. I tried adding "flashaudio" to the mode option in my saved pvr search list thing, but when I click run pvr it gives me an error:
INFO: 1 Matching Programmes
INFO: Checking existence of default version
INFO: No specified modes (flashaudio) available for this programme with version 'default' (try using --modes=flashaaclow,rtspaaclow,wma)
ERROR: Failed to record 'programme name - 21/08/2013 (b038btvj)'

I...don't know what I'm doing. I can only get it to record in m4a at 48 kbps. When I used Radio Downloader it always recorded at a higher bitrate than that.

  Auto Thumbnail Size
Posted by: mrad - 28-08-2013, 01:04 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (2)

Partial from an --info output yields...
<pre>

Code:
pid:            b039yx23
player:         http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b039yx23/Adele_Roberts_26_08_2013/
thumbfile:      V:\_incoming\_iplayer\Adele_Roberts\Adele_Roberts\Adele_Roberts_-_26_08_2013_b039yx23_default.jpg
thumbnail:      http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/images/episode/b039yx23_150_84.jpg
thumbnail1:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_86_48.jpg
thumbnail2:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_150_84.jpg
thumbnail3:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_178_100.jpg
thumbnail4:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_512_288.jpg
thumbnail5:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_528_297.jpg
thumbnail6:     http://ichef.bbci.co.uk/programmeimages/episode/b039yx23_640_360.jpg
</pre>

coupled with the option ...
Code:
--thumbsize <index|width>   Default thumbnail size/index to use for the current recording and metadata (see --info for thumbnailN: to get size/index)

I would like to use the above option in PVR mode like this...
Code:
thumbsize 1000
where the nearest size found to 1000x1000px is saved as embedded art, in the above case thumbnail6.

This would allow my player to look great when displaying embedded artwork from GiP recorded shows.

Thanks in advance.

  Download failure

Hi,

The following link fails on 2.8.3. with win xp.. where
This is perl 5, version 16, subversion 2 (v5.16.2) built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
<pre>

Code:
C:\Program Files\get_iplayer>perl.exe get_iplayer.pl "http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ej58q9/acts/ab8hzc#p01c4mrg"

INFO Trying to stream pid using type tv
INFO: pid not found in tv cache

</pre>

So, I uninstalled latest, and put in 4.5 and the above still fails with ..
This is perl 5, version 12, subversion 3 (v5.12.3) built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread

On both versions, I used git versions SHA-1: ff6b5778d784e3f4eedfe416a4036410dfd275a6 (24.08.2013)
of get_iplayer.pl and get_iplayer.cgi

Any ideas ?

  get_iplayer commands
Posted by: lakeuk - 08-08-2013, 05:28 PM - Forum: Windows Troubleshooting - Replies (3)

On my windows GiP setup I've put together a batch script to get a radio show based on a supplied PID which is working fine for m4a recordings but for mp3 recordings I'm unable to get my command working so the mp3 gets the metadata on the programme applied, using the Web PVR Manager the mp3 recording gets the metadata added correctly so the manager seems to be using the MP3:Tag perl module to do that, so I would of through it would do the same via a command.

I've tried playing about with the --id3v2 argument but I've not been able to find a windows binary to use with the argument that shows as working.

It's not a big issues for me as it's looks like it's just the local programmes that are mp3 and I can use the manager as a last resort but would prefer to use my main solution for everyone via command, plus the metadata allows me to find it on my playlist on my ipod

Any advise from any appreciated, thanks
